Following the announcement of Sushma Swaraj for not contesting the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in 2019 the Union Minister Uma Bharti too echoed the same for herself.
Bharti said she has opted to devote her time for Ram temple in Ayodhya and cleanliness of river Ganga for next one-and-a-half years.
The Drinking Water and Sanitation Minister mentioned to be quitting power to embark on a 2,500-km pilgrimate along the Ganga river on foot from to devote time for Lord Ram and river Ganga.
However, Bharti clarified would not be quitting politics and she will start her pilgrimage from Makar Sankranti in January.
When asked whether her announcement to remain away from power was a follow up to what External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said Bharti clarified that she made her stand clear about one or two years ago and the Jhansi MP has said it now.
Bharti added that she is not quitting politics and she will remain in politics till her last breath.
Meanwhile, the Sangh parivar has demanded the Modi government to expedite construction pf a Ram temple in Ayodhya.
