Religious leader Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati announced Wednesday at Kumbh Mela the ‘silanyas’ of Ram temple in Ayodhya is planned to take place on February 21 and Hindus are urged to reach carrying four bricks each.
Called as ‘ishtika nyas’ (laying of bricks), the planned ceremony was announced at the end of a three-day congregation of seers and comes a day after Centre filed petition in the apex court to transfer surplus land adjacent to disputed land to its original owners.
Dwarka Peeth Shankaracharya said following Basant Panchami, February 10, Sadhus will march from Allahabad to Ayodhya and while marking start of construction of Ram temple they are prepared to face bullets.
Meanwhile, Vishwa Hindu Parishad has planned for a two-day Dharam Sansad in Allahabad and it is to begin on Thursday.
Apart from this, the Kumbh Mela has turned to become political venue. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took a holy dip in the Sangam at Prayagraj alonw with his 25 cabinet colleagues. Samajwadi Party Chief and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav too took a holy dip separately.
Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth performed rituals at the Kumbh Mela with his wife.
