Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s plunge into
politics has enthused the rank and file of the Congress. The party has also
started joining hands with smaller parties in Uttar Pradesh. The OBC- dominated
Mahaan Dal has joined hands with Congress party in the presence of Priyanka
Gandhi. After that the BJP MLA Avtar Singh Bhadana from Mirapur seat in Uttar
Pradesh has joined the Congress party at the UPCC office in Lucknow in
Priyanka’s presence. Bhadana is a three time MP from Faridabad in Haryana and one
time MP from Meerut in Uttar Pradesh.. He has a strong hold in the Gujjar belt
of Western Uttar Pradesh as well as in Haryana. Ram Lal Rahi , a Dalit leader
from Sitapur formally joined Congress. Rahi was a Union Minister of state for
Home in the Narasimha Rao government. His return to the Congress fold is
believed to be followed by the entry of his son Suresh Rahi who is sitting BJP
MLA from Hargaon Assembly constituency in Sitapur. The Darbhanga MP and former
cricketer Kirti Azad has also joined the Congress along with many BJP leaders
and workers from Bihar in Delhi.
CONGRESS
READY TO OFFER RLD OF AJIT SINGH FOUR LOK SABHA SEATS
The state UP leadership of Congress is
pursuing an alliance with Shivpal Yadav’s Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohia)
as well as with the faction of Apna Dal. Talks are on with Shivpal Yadav on
alliance and Congress party is ready to give 5 seats to Shivpal’s party in
Uttar Pradesh. The deal will be announced very soon. Meanwhile Priyanka Gandhi
Vadra has consulted with the block level to state leadership in this regard and
most of the party workers have advised tie-up with small parties, Shivpal’s
Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohia) and Ajit Singh’s party RLD. Congress has
offered RLD to 4 to 5 seats because the result in three northern states has
shown the trends of supporting the Congress party by the Upper caste, Muslims,
dalits and the middle class and the workers and leaders of UP are confident to
get the support of Brahmins, Muslims, Dalit and middle class in UP but the Centre
leadership wants a Mahagatbandan throughout the country including Uttar Pradesh
to fight against the BJP in 2019 Lok Sabha election.
PM
REVIEWING WORK OF ALL PRESENT BJP LOK SABHA MEMBERS
The BJP does not want to lose any
chance in the coming Lok Sabha election. Therefore PMO has started reviewing
the work of BJP MPs through out the country on the pattern of Gujarat. As Chief
Minister of Gujarat, Narendra Modi used to depend on the feed back to decide
whether the sitting MLA has a chance to be re-elected. With the result he
dropped many sitting MLAs and gave a chance to new faces. In the same way PM
Modi is now reviewing the work of the MPs and enquiring the personal anti
incumbency and unpopularity of each MPs in their constituency. According to sources,
the BJP will decide the names of sitting MPs who get the ticket and who do not
get the ticket for the second time. In every interaction with BJP MPs over the
last five years, Prime Minister Modi has repeatedly insisted that they be
active in their constituency and take govts programme to people.
MULAYAM
SINGH INFLUENCED BY HIS SON PRATEEK ON MODI COMMENT
The day after Mulayam Singh Yadav
wished PM Modi a second term, posters appeared in Lucknow thanking the
Samajwadi patriarch for voicing the sentiments of 125 crore Indians. Never
mind, Rabri Devi’s dig at her Yadav-in-law’s fading memory. Lucknow is full of
gossips though, about Mulayam being a captive of his younger son Prateek Yadav.
Prateek’s wife Aparna Yadav is an unabashed Modi Bakht. She even entertained
the idea of joining the BJP. Needless to say, the step family’s equation with
SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav is not exactly cosy.
CONGRESS
WORKING ON ALLIANCE WITH SMALLER PARTIES IN MAHARASHTRA
In Maharashtra, Congress-NCP alliance
is forming a pact with smaller parties and left parties to defeat the BJP-SHIV
SENA alliance in the coming Lok Sabha election. Discussion is taking place
among Bahujan Vikas Aaghadi (BVA), Prakash Yashwant Ambedkar’s Bharipa Bahujan
Mahasangh Party and with Raju Shetti’s Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana(SSS).
Congress President Rahul Gandhi will be visiting Mumbai and Dhule on 1st March
and will attend the rallies. His visit is politically important as he will
decide the Mahagatbandhan after consulting the Maharashtra and Mumbai Congress
state leaders. Meanwhile NCP Chief Sharad Pawar is also talking to MNS Chief
Raj Thakeray.
