Mamata”s Federal Front Move Makes Headway

By Rahil Nora Chopra

Mamata Banerjee has become active with the Lok Sabha election coming closer. After meeting with Chief Minister of Telangana K Chandrasekhar Rao on the issue of third front she was in Delhi and   held meetings with the opposition leaders to unite them against BJP. She wants to make a Federal Front. In this connection she had also met NCP Chief Sharad Pawar, Shiv Sena leaders and other opposition leaders on March 27 and 28. She has appealed to SP and BSP for calling a meeting of opposition leaders in Lucknow for unity and she will be there and has requested all the opposition leaders to attend the conclave if called by SP and BSP. She also met UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi. She also is in touch with TDP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu as she declared that her next target is Delhi although she said that she is not a candidate for Prime Ministership.

BIG PRESSURE ON AMIT SHAH TO CHANGE STATE BJP CHIEFS

There is a huge pressure on BJP President Amit Shah from within the party after losing the by elections in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh to change the state BJP units chief especially in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan where assembly elections are going to be held this year.   But Nand Kumar Singh Chauhan, Madhya Pradesh BJP chief and Ashok Parnami, Rajasthan BJP Chief are very close to their chief minister and it seems difficult to annoy the state chief minister. Although the thought is going around that a new person may bring balance during the selection of candidates in the coming assembly elections and in Uttar Pradesh, they are plaaning to change the 39 BJP District Presidents.

NITISH KUMAR WORRIED ABOUT HIS LIFE WITH BJP IN BIHAR

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is now worried for his future as neither he is able to do neither away with the issue of Special category of Bihar nor able to press forcefully the issue of Special category with central government. Nitish Kumar has made pressure with strength at the time when Manmohan Singh was the prime minister.   The central government at that time made a committee to examine the issue but with no result and again when Nitish made a government with Lalu Prasad Yadav in Bihar and demanded the special status to Bihar, it could not be pursued as Nitish joined hands with BJP. As a result they did not demand for the special status even on the Bihar Divas and on March 24, Giriraj Singh a minister in Central Government visited Patna where at the airport BJP showed their strength to welcome the Minister and Giriraj Singh opposed the state government openly.

CONGRESS PLENARY SESSION HAD TOUCH OF PRIYANKA GANDHI

The 84th plenary session of the Congress which has the proud history of 133 years has first time changed the seating system of the plenary session under the leadership of young Rahul Gandhi. Before this session, big leaders used to sit on the dias and the workers sit on the floor. Now this time the dias is only used for lecture and the Congress president Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi along with other seniors leaders sit with the workers and leaders. According to party sources all the arrangement of Indira Gandhi stadium including the dias arrangement were made by Priyanka Gandhi and several new concepts in the programme also had Priyanka’s touch. She is very active behind the scenes.

BJP CENTRAL LEADERSHIP UNHAPPY WITH RAJASTHAN GOVERNMENT

BJP Central leadership is not happy with the Rajasthan Government and the state party leadership as after eight months, there will be the assembly election in the state. Seeing the defeat in the by polls , the BJP leaders are now activating  the workers at ground level as well as the booth level. State BJP organisation secretary Chandrashekhar has invited  all the state Cabinet ministers except the chief minister Vasundhara Raje to discuss the state situation in which national organisational secretary and the in charge of Rajasthan V Satish  attended in which  both leaders wanted to know the reason of discontent among the workers with the government but because of  the  presence of few ministers who are very close to chief minister , nobody wanted to discuss the political issues openly and they blamed the government servants who are responsible for the present situation. Central leadership has proposed a formula in which a few ministers can be replaced by new faces.  Apart, the writers, artists, journalists, philosophers and teachers related to RSS should be given importance and respect because they are close to BJP ideology. These persons are ignored by the present government till today.

MAYAWATI FAVOURS ANTI-BJP ALLIANCE THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY

After Gorakhpur and Phulpur by election, SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav wants to oblige Mayawati to fight the Kairana Lok Sabha by election in Uttar Pradesh Though Mayawati normally does not contest by election but as the population of Dalits are around 1lakh fifty thousand and around 6 Lakh fifty thousand are Muslims, she wants to make a exception in this case. Both the SP and BSP have strong pocket of influence in the constituency. The Congress wants Ajit Singh’s Son Jayant Chaudhary to fight the Kairana seats Meanwhile Mayawati wants to make an anti-BJP alliance not only in Uttar Pradesh but also throughout the country. (IPA)
