Hyderabad to be renamed Bhagyanagar, Karimnagar as Karipuram:

Telangana will be voting on Friday and ahead of it Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has his final say during a BJP campaign in the state on Wednesday. He talked about changing the names of Hyderabad and Karimnagar if his party comes to power.

Hyderabad to be renamed Bhagyanagar, Karimnagar as Karipuram

Yogi said if BJP wins Hyderabad will be renamed as Bhagyanagar and Karimnagar district as Karipuram.

About the renaming of Hyderabad the UP CM had spoken previously too, but he added Karimnagar to the list lately.

Yogi said, “In order to respect the sentients of people of Telangana, BJP will rename Karimnagar to Karipuram.”

At another rally earlier in Bodhan town of Nizamabad district the BJP leader said, “Hyderabad will become Bhagyanagar like we did it in Uttar Pradesh where we changed Faizabad to Ayodhya and Allahabad to Prayagraj.”

Yogi took the office of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister on 19 March 2017 and since then has undertaken series of name changes in the state. Apart from name change of cities and districts, he renamed Mughalsarai railway junction to Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya junction. Name change of airports and buses are also on card under his leadership.

Meanwhile, political rivals have always accused Yogi for name changes as there are other things where to focus more.

Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) President Asaduddin Owaisi accused Yogi of ignoring his own state Uttar Pradesh and campaign in Telangana.

Responding to the comments Yogi said in one of his rallies, “Owaisi will have to flee Hyderabad like the Nizams if BJP is voted to power.”
