Government announces extension of 7th Pay Commission to teachers

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has come up with one another offer to lure voters in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He announced extension of the 7th Central Pay Commission to the government teachers.

Government announces extension of 7th Pay Commission to teachers

The Ministry of Human Resource Development approved Tuesday the recommendations to academic staff of government with granting of Rs 1,241 crore.

Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar said, “This will directly benefit a total of 29,264 teachers and other academic staff of state government funded institutes. Besides, about 3.5 lakh teachers.”

He added 50 percent of the total additional expenditure will also be reimbursed.

Javadekar continued saying that the earlier announced 10 percent EWS reservation quota will also be implemented in the educational institutions and seats in universities across India would be increased by about 25 percent.

The government is working on couple of relevant measures ahead of the upcoming general elections like providing income support to farmers and pushing strongly towards construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya.

In the income support to farmers the government is learned to be compensating for gap between sale price of crops and procurement prices that is fixed by the government.

Apart from all these, the government is considering waiving of electricity dues in the BJP-ruled states. The move is working satisfactorily in Assam and Gujarat.
