Congress To Hold Grand Show For Priyanka In Lucknow

Congress To Hold Grand Show For Priyanka In Lucknow

By
Pradeep Kapoor

LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee
is all set to organise show of strength through road show as and when Priyanka
Gandhi Vadra arrives Lucknow on February 10-11. Congress is preparing to
organise grand reception of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on her arrival to Lucknow to
take charge of Easter UP for 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

There is a great amount of enthusiasm
in Congress leaders and workers eversince Congress President Rahul Gandhi made
his sister as AICC general secretary Incharge of crucial  Eastern UP. The entire UPCC building is being
painted and space is being created for Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Jyotiraditya
Scindia.

As of now, in the beginning Priyanka
and Jyotiraditya will spend four days in a week in Lucknow to review the
political situation and strength of party organisations in their respective
areas. Priyanka Gandhi will hold meeting with Congress leaders one to one to
have direct feedback and then hold meetings with group. It is expected that
Priyanka will meet not only members of minority community leaders, but also
other leaders.

Congress leadership is aware that
eversince Priyanka Gandhi was made AICC general secretary there is great amount
of churning in minority community. Muslim leaders are debating where the
community should support SP-BSP alliance or return to Congress which had been
their first choice before 1990.

The possibility of BSP joining BJP
after the polls is also being debated among the Muslims. They argue that
Mayawati became CM thrice with the help of BJP so what was the guarantee that
she would not join again after the polls. They also talk about the Gujarat
Polls when Mayawati campaigned there to help BJP.

The manner in which Mayawati has
launched attack on Congress it would be difficult for any negotiation for seat
sharing with alliance in the coming days. On the contrary rival group of
Samajwadi Party led by Shivpal Yadav uncle of Akhilesh Yadav is very keen to
have seat sharing with Congress. There are other small groups and parties
looking for seat adjustments with Congress.

Although Mayawati is aggressive in
launching attack on Congress but on the other hand SP national President
Akhilesh Yadav is very soft on Congress and welcomed the entry of Priyanka
Gandhi.

Now much depends on the public
meetings of Priyanka Gandhi and whether the party could spring surprise in the
coming Lok Sabha poll with improved results. (IPA Service)

An appeal

The legacy of IPA, founded by Nikhil Chakravartty, the doyen of journalism in India, to keep the flag of independent media flying high, is facing the threat of extinction due to the effect of the Covid pandemic. Only an emergency funding can avert such an eventuality. We appeal to all those who believe in the freedom of expression to contribute to this noble cause.
