Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee is organising a Jan Aakrosh Rally in Ram Lila Maidan in New Delhi on 29 April, hoping to bring at least one lakh people from Delhi and neighbouring states. The rally‘s aim is to expose the Narendra Modi government’s work in the last four years. The highlights will include SC/ST issues, unemployment, poverty and price rise, among others. Rahul Gandhi and other senior leaders will address the rally. AICC general secretary Incharge of organisation Ashok Gehlot is coordinating the efforts to make it a grand success.
NITISH TURNS TO SITA FOR SURVIVAL
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is pinning hopes on a new survival strategy by announcing plans to build a grand Sita Temple in Sitamarhi district. He has also announced a public holiday on Janaki Navami after Ram Navami in the state. Political observers feel Nitish Kumar is now in a fighting mood and wants to give a message to BJP that he can create an alternative to BJP in his own state.
RAJASTHAN BJP CHIEF GETS THE SACK
After much persuasion, the central leadership has changed Rajasthan BJP chief Ashok Parnami and put Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in his place. The party leadership has also moved against Brahmin Ghanshyam Tiwari MLA, who has an RSS background but does not get along with Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje. The move against him is at the behest of the chief minister. While Tiwari wants the BJP expel him from the party, the RSS wants him to be actively involved in Rajasthan BJP.
BJP SAYS TMC VIOLENCE BORNE OUT OF FEAR
Inspire of the strictures against violence by the High Court, the fighting between TMC workers and opposition party workers, especially BJP workers, is continuing unabated. While the High court has directed the West Bengal Election Commission to start filing of fresh nomination papers for the upcoming panchayat election on April 23, scrutiny on April 25 and the date for withdrawal on April 28, the poll body has not announced the date for the election. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is in a fighting mood and blames the opposition parties for disturbing the panchayat election by going to different courts to disturb the election process. Meanwhile, the Congress and Left Morcha have started rallies and dharnas against the TMC and BJP is saying the belligerent TMC action is driven by a fear of defeat in the panchayat election.
NAIDU SAYS HE HAS TRIED EVERYTHING
N Chandrababu Naidu made an exposition of his approach of sama, dana, bheda and danda on his birthday after a 12 hour long hunger strike. By sama he maintains friendly relationship with the Centre for seeking justice to Andhra Pradesh. By dana, he gave a grand welcome to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Andhra Pradesh thinking he would help the state. When the Centre was found colluding with tainted party YSR Congress and doing injustice to Andhra Pradesh, he openly opposed it as an example of bheda. And as the Centre continued to do injustice to Andhra Pradesh, he and his party launched a fight – danda—against it. Naidu said he was fasting on his birthday as a symbolic fight for justice. (IPA)
