Even though Congress is trying to lure voters by introducing Priyanka Gandhi in the mainstream politics, a survey conducted by Ipsos finds Prime Minister Narendra Modi is still the preferred choice by most of the voters.
Surveyed around 35,000 people across both urban as well as rural areas in 320 constituencies in 23 states, the global market research firm based in Paris reveals people still have trust on Modi and his BJP government at the Centre.
Dubbed as Firstpost The National Trust Survey, it is found Indians trust BJP more than Congress in resolving issues like petrol prices, inflation, lack of employment opportunities, infrastructure development and more.
The survey finds such trusts and sentiments are more found in the Hindi heartlands.
Leaving Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh, all the other states have more trust on Modi compared to Congress President Rahul Gandhi as leader of India.
Those states where regional parties are dominant has difference in their responses. They better prefer their respective regional parties more than any other.
Talking about performance of Modi as prime minister most of the surveyed said the works have been so far good. Voters in southern India however said the works of Modi were not satisfactory.
Voters identified top three works of Modi as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, black money crackdown and surgical strike.
